Paradise Inn @ Sunway Pyramid

I used to shop at Sunway Pyramid when I stayed in Puchong last time. When I was invited to sample food at Paradise, it’s time to pay the mall a visit Smile Probably just an excuse. When we went there, it was barely 8 weeks old. The well-spaced tables ensured that we had sufficient privacy for a somewhat private dining. One of the signature items on the menu, the Sliced Tea-Smoked Duck – thinly sliced duck with the nice amount of fatty skin that was not overly oily.

Signature Flower tea

Wifey chose the Lavender, Rosemary, Dried Longan & Chrysanthemum tea, which was served in a glass pot on top of a burner. This tea is supposed to remove heat, restore ‘qi’, nourish blood and moisten throat at the same time. The rest of the dishes were as below.

We were also served with traditional double-boiled soups are served in a huge claypot with a portion enough for 2-4 persons.

Another dish that worth mentioning was Braised Vermicelli with Pork Trotter and Supreme Seafood Fried Rice would be nice fillers.

The selection of desserts was quite comprehensive, but among all of them, I had picked a few favourites. Our top choice was the Chilled Lemongrass Jelly with Lemonade (exceptionally refreshing jelly with equally refreshing lemonade), followed by Double-boiled Hasma with Red Dates and Longan (just because hasma is good for skin) and finally the Black Sesame Paste (comfortingly thick and smooth).

We are glad that more restaurants serving authentic and traditional Chinese dishes are opening up in the Klang Valley. It is certainly a welcoming change to the idea that air-con Chinese restaurants must mean high-class dining or expensive dishes.

  1. Meaning that the Sliced Tea-Smoked Duck is marinated using tea and then smoked? :p Looks so yummy.
